The idea for this project grew from seeing everyday rural materials with a fresh eye. In exhibitions and markets, we look for products that local makers could develop using resources found around them.

Palm fronds and other plant fibers offer possibilities for making blinds, curtains, and household items with a distinctive natural character. The project focuses on preparing these materials and developing them into products that families can make from home.

What encourages us is the opportunity this could offer rural women: a kind of work that draws on local resources and can contribute to family income.

We see room to develop this idea carefully, connecting practical skills with products people want to buy, so that the materials of rural life become another source of earnings.
