Hydroponics Farming Project

Hydroponics

Southern Shouneh and Central Ghor areas, Jordan Valley

For this project we’re applying the best methods for farming with hydroponics (water-bsed faming) which increases yields by more than 40% while using only 20% of the water required for its equivalent of soil-based farming. Hydroponics also use a much less area of land when done correctly.

We found an area in the southern Shouneh region for our sustainable hydroponics’ project. We built a greenhouse on an area of 350 square meters and went to work. The project would produce specific types of vegetables, including lettuce and asparagus. In the first year of this project four Jordanian families stand to benefit with new skills and financial support from selling their produce for profit.

Rewell Society launches its projects on proven concepts; they are simple and easy to set up; they build on local knowledge and skills and require little funding to start. Your donations will provide underprivileged Jordanian families the opportunity to generate income and expand their skills.
